We are delighted to be able to offer a unique pretzel making class taught by The Great British Bake Off's semi-finalist : Jürgen Krauss.

He is also running a Christmas Special making spiced stollen bites and black and white biscuits, all washed down with some mulled wine

German pretzel class

Jürgen loves making bread more than any other type of baking.  In this half day class, Jürgen will impart his knowledge of two traditional German breads: Neujahrsbrezel and traditional Pretzels.

The Neujahrsbrezel is a New Year´s treat and is made with an enriched dough, known as “Hefeteig”. It´s gently flavoured with vanilla and lemon zest, then shaped into a plaited, Pretzel shape and decorated.  For the authentic soft pretzels you will be using traditional ingredients, including lye to create the shiny crisp finish. This is a fun, hands on class producing your own tasty pretzels to take home and enjoy. Firstly, Jürgen loves making bread more than any other type of baking.  In this half day class, Jürgen will impart his knowledge of two traditional German breads: Neujahrsbrezel and traditional Pretzels.

Festive biscuit class

On this class, you’ll learn how to make some of Jürgen’s favourite biscuits. Just in time for the festive season!

You’ll make the German Christmas classic - stollen (but a quicker bite-sized version); alongside eye-catching (and delicious) black & white cookies. These are made with two contrasting doughs (lemon zest & vanilla, and cocoa powder) combined to make various patterns. This is a wonderful class to get into the spirit of Christmas, all helped along by a glass of mulled wine. Non-alcoholic warm spiced drink also available - please request when booking.

4.5 HOUR CLASSES – Allow an extra 30 minutes runover time.

COFFEE AND PATISSERIE BREAK! A little time to relax and chat over coffee and fondants (mice pies on the festive class)!
